First of all, I want to make this VERY CLEAR:

I am, and have been, healthy, in shape and ready to play.

It is confirmed, in writing ("affidavit" – yes, I had to learn some legal language at Löwen).

What happened:
My family and I wanted to finish the second of our two-year contract in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, the team did not.

Usually, a team then offers a buy-out to amicably terminate the contract. This team, not.

Instead, they tried to push me out of the contract by using a bogus "medical exam" end of July.

A "medical exam" later to be found void by courts and outside any professional hockey standard.

It started in April and didn't end until I took them successfully to court in August.

Something I had never done before and hopefully never need to do again.

Only after the court fully ruled in my favor with all potential legal consequences, the club came back to reality and offered a solution.

This could have easily been done before without all the negative implications.

I, alone, could've battled them until the very end. To add this to our family's burden is what hurt the most.

I have played on many teams, in many leagues. I thought I've seen it all.

Yet nothing comes anywhere near to what this club tried to do.

Again, it is my intention to inform about the bad, but to also thank for the good.

We enjoyed our time there, so thank you players, your families and of course the fans for last season.

I would have loved to play another season with you.

Finally, I hope this won't happen to anyone again. And if it does, please reach out, I have plenty of advice. ✌🏻

Frankfurt ist die unprofessionelste Organisation in der DEL... 
Bitte dieses Jahr, ab in die 2. Liga mit denen. Wegen mir können sie dann 2036 mit ihrer neuen Halle und hoffentlich neuer Führung wieder kommen.
